The Fenguin study guides been in existence since late December 2001, when the first Accelerated Biology study guide was created as a study aid for a freshman year accelerated biology class at Fremd High School. In subsequent years, additional guides were created for other classes at Fremd and were offered as a free download at this website. Going along with the idea, other students have in years past created similar guides which were posted at their respective sites, but all of these other guides have since been lost. The current site (effective January 2008, six years after the original guides were posted online) has all of the original guides up as both a memoir of times past and as originally intended, a reference for students hoping for a slightly easier time during final exams.
